Emily Brown and the Elephant Emergency

Description

By Cressida Cowell, illustrated by Neal Layon

Emily, Stanley and their friend Matilda the elephant are whitewater rafting when Matilda’s over-anxious mother rings – it’s an elephant emergency! The third instalment of the Emily Brown adventures very much follows the same story structure as the previous ones but will doubtless delight fans as well as those new to these picture books.
It is a lovely book to read and to look at, with funny and energy-filled illustrations and imaginative text layout. It also offers the possibility of a mini-lesson in geography for young children, as it is a great excuse to look up on the map the Zambezi River, Mount Everest, etc.
