Little Bridge is a six-level course for young learners, with an innovative, child-centred approach. It is an interactive website whose aim is to teach young children English. This was originally devised for the ESOL market but would be great for many areas of literacy work in the classroom. Little Bridge is tailored to the Cambridge Young Learners Tests (Starters, Movers and Flyers) and is aligned with the Common European Framework.

The high-quality visuals – including virtual reality – make this product stand apart from others. It interests children through their involvement in the community of Little Bridge and all the characters who live there. This gives a meaningful context for language learning. Domino, the spotty dog becomes the real favourite of most people!

Once inside, children can create their own character and feel at home in their own customised room. This is where they can keep all the rewards and trophies that they'll collect as they achieve success in English.

Learning language through such a program can be motivating for many children because they work mostly independently and can succeed (or fail) in their own environment and so not feel inadequate in any way. But Little Bridge also has accompanying activity books and teacher materials (flash cards, copymasters) to support personalised learning – there are even apps for the iPhone and iPad. Storytelling, songs and poems are a key feature of the varied resources. And children can ‘talk’ to other children all round the world with ‘My DigiTalk’ – the fully moderated online community (online safety has the highest priority in
