Spellbound: The Stolen City

by Tom Eglington

Bethany is having quite a boring visit to London until a mysterious cat starts to follow her and turns her life upside down. Supernatural beings beg Bethany to help them by joining them in a trip to the Stolen City, otherwise known as the spirit realm, but should she trust them?

The second novel in a planned series, featuring Bethany Chase as a feisty heroine who deals with extraordinary events in a down-to-earth and humorous way. This book is most likely to appeal to readers who are beginning to gain in confidence in their independent reading and are able to tackle full size children’s novels without illustrations. Although there are striking male characters in the story, the dominating presence of Bethany as the heroine may make this far more attractive to a female audience.
