The Adventures of Odysseus

The story of Odysseus is always a winner and this carefully arranged account of his struggles by Hugh Lupton and Daniel Morden  is both straightforward and colourful.  The sentences are straightforward, the vocabulary both enticing and accessible.     Odysseus’ thoughts and feelings are allowed just enough detail to enhance the drama of his situation without cluttering it up.  Christina Balit’s illustrations are exciting, colourful and varied, subtly portraying a range of emotions.   They tell the familiar story in contemporary terms.
